Pro Team rider Gabriel Rasch came up with the idea of a short sleeve jersey that would have an aero, stretch fit and be ideal for use in cold and wet weather. Arm protection could be added if needed, simply by using Castelli's nanoflex armwarmers. Back then there was not a rainproof fabric available that was stretchy enough to make this a reality. Fast forward to today and, after working with Gore to develop such a fabric, Castelli now gives us 4-way stretch Windstopper X-Lite Plus - and the new Gabba WS Rain Jersey! FYI - Gabba is Gabriel Rasch's nickname. Great for Winter rides and for those early season races, Gabba's teammate Roger Hammond, who is something of an early season classics specialist, calls this jersey one of the best pieces of kit he has ever worn.
