The art from the 1965 World Championships Publicity poster has been beautifully sublimated onto this exciting new jersey from Retro. This 1965 edition of the race was won by Renato Longo - his 4th of 5 World Championship victories, and in front of a home crowd in Italy.
The very first recognized UCI Cyclo-cross World Championships took place in Paris in 1950. From then up until 1966 the championship was open to both amateurs and professionals.
Cyclo-cross races typically take place in the Fall/Autumn and Winter (the International or "World Cup" season is September - January). Short intense races, usually many laps of a set course that will feature pavement, wooded trails, grass, steep hills and obstacles requiring the rider to dismount and carry the bike. A huge amount of fun, with many and increasing numbers of devotees - it has become something of a religion around the globe. All levels of riders take part and find cyclo-x a great, fun way to stay in shape outside of the road-racing or mountain-biking seasons. This is a great looking jersey and one cross crusaders everywhere are going to love. It's nearly time! Cowbells at the ready !
